Recognizing BSC Students

Bismarck State College celebrated student achievement during its 56th annual Recognition Ceremony at the National Energy Center of Excellence. The ceremony honored students for their achievements in the classroom and campus organizations, highlighting their academic excellence, leadership, and service to the college community.

The evening began with Residence Hall Coordinator Cassie Perman announcing members of the Student Government Association (SGA). Students were honored for leadership and dedication representing their peers and contributing to campus projects and events.

Following the SGA awards, Kevin Cavanagh, Associate Professor of Management and Co-Adviser for Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), recognized members of the international two-year honor society. PTK members must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete at least 15 semester hours toward an associate degree at BSC. Cavanagh also recognized Graysen Connolly and Cammie Veldkamp for their achievements at the DECA international conference.

Professor Lynette Painter, from the Computers and Office Technology department, introduced awardees from the Future Business Leaders of America Collegiate (FBLA). Students were recognized for their leadership, confidence, and commitment to community service.

Dr. Dan Leingang, Vice President for Academic Affairs, continued the event announcing members of the All-North Dakota Academic Team. These students were celebrated for their academic excellence and meaningful contributions to both the college and the community.

The event concluded with academic programs and departments naming Outstanding Students. These honors were given to individuals who demonstrated exceptional academic performance, achievements, and strong character throughout their time at BSC.
