What's the Most Popular Candy on Campus?
Bismarck State College has a wide array of candy you can purchase, from the classic Hershey bar, to more out there picks like Swedish fish. I was bored and decided to ask as many people around BSC campus what their favorite candy is, and tally which one was the most popular among both students and staff.
Coming in with three points each, two complete opposites on the candy spectrum. Sour gummy worms are soft, long, and sour, whereas Skittles are a small, sweet, and crunchy snack.
Four candies tied with four points each, a split between chocolate and sweet candy. Starbursts and Nerds both being fruity, with M&Ms and Twix being the first chocolates in this list.
Another two way tie with Kit-Kats, a nice chocolate treat you can snap in half up to three times, and Gummy Bears, a classic treat that’s over 100 years old. Both scored five points each.
Reese’s peanut butter cups got six points. This simple candy is made of only two ingredients, peanut butter and chocolate. Fun fact: most people pronounce Reese’s wrong, opting to say “ree-seez” instead of “ree-siz.”
The most popular candy on campus is Snickers, with an astounding eight points. A chocolate bar filled with peanuts, caramel, and nougat has made it a fan favorite among BSC students.
Honorable Mention: Heath was the least popular candy with an astounding half a point, because someone wanted to choose two candies. The other candy they chose was Butterfingers, which got one and a half points.
