Pleased to Meet You: Dylan Kahl - Oct. 29, 2026

Dylan Kahl

Assistant Professor for Graphic Design and Communications

Q: What do you do at Bismarck State College?

A: [I] teach Graphic Design & Communications

Q: If you could choose one song to play every time you walk into a room, what song would you choose? Why?

A: “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits

Q: If you had to explain your current job to a 5-year-old, what would you say?

A: [I] teach people how to make logos.

Q: From your perspective, what is the best part of BSC?

A: The opportunity to grow, especially for marketing, to be able to take what you know and use it to get the most out of it. You get hands-on learning here because of the smaller community.

Q: If there was a movie made about your life, who would play you and what genre would it be?

A: Dylan ‘O’ Brien or Logan Lerman because I’ve been told I look like him. Action Comedy.

Q: If there was a student whose dream job was yours, what advice would you give them?

A: Learn to play the role of the fool, be okay with falling on your face or being stupid sometimes.

Q: What is your favorite season?

A: I used to think summer but now I think fall, you can bundle up for the colder days and still have hope for some warmer days as well. Summer has too many crazy thunderstorms. Now that I have a house I’m more worried about it getting destroyed.
