New Student Engagement Coordinator Brings Fresh Perspective To Campus

Sarah Owens has stepped down as the Student Engagement Coordinator. Now, Danielle Dolechek has taken over that position. She is excited about this position and the chance to plan fun activities and events. Getting to know students is another thing she is excited about.

Dolechek has plans for next year. She is currently working on stuff for homecoming. She plans to make it even bigger and more appealing. She is also working on summer activities for high schoolers coming to BSC for sports camps. She wants to plan activities in the evenings so the high schoolers are not bored the whole time that they are here. She is also planning for a comedian to come to school next year. She finds this comedian very funny. This position isn’t all easy. Dolechek does face some challenges.

One of the biggest challenges she faces is the budget. She has many ideas, but staying within the budget limit is difficult. Another challenge she faces is keeping the demographics interested. Something she might find fun or comedic might not appeal to 20-year-olds. She also faces the challenge of attendance rates in events, especially when the event is someone coming to perform, as it only works in the evenings. This is not what is best for student turnout rates. So trying to work around that has been difficult.
