New Housing Being Constructed

Going Up! - The new dorm's construction can be seen from almost anywhere on campus. Many Students are interested in this new addition to the campus.

Bismarck State College is in the midst of constructing a new building, introducing more housing choices for people who decide to live on campus grounds. Though it’s far from completion, the dorms will offer more space for students.

Chief Buildings and Grounds Officer Don Roethler spoke about the new dorms and what problems they might solve. Roethler said that they will hopefully increase enrollment and introduce more space available for students on campus. They will also have a layout similar to the Health Science Hall, with two sets of beds and a desk area.

Some other things to note include the first floor, which will have a cafe, gym area, a reception area with an RHC for students, and a parking garage with limited spaces. The other four floors will have only dorm rooms with 350 beds. There will be a patio that’s exclusive to the second floor.

Students expressed interest in the new dorms. Most are hoping for something inexpensive and affordable, with air conditioning and more space for storage.
