Letter from the Editors

Summer feels different when you’re a college student. It’s a breath of fresh air, but you also realize that you’re no longer a high school student able to kick back and relax. Now, you have responsibilities. Your days are filled with a job, paying bills you didn’t expect, and spending time with loved ones. Sometimes it is easy to miss the strict schedule of school. The stress that kept you going was a dose of adrenaline you didn’t know you needed, and even that classmate you struggled through a class with helped you out. Coming back to normal life after college may feel like a huge change. Although summer brings personal change, it also brings change to the world around us. As we go further into the summer season, BSC remains vibrant with activity. Work on the Bavendick Center continues, and, despite the campus being quieter, we see exciting additions to campus. From the Mystic Smiles Dental Clinic to our own college newspaper, there is always something to look out for. The growth of BSC is undeniable, even in more peaceful times of the year. As we look through previous Mystician years, we are pleased to say this is the first ever summer issue. The team decided not to wait till the school year rolled around to update everyone on all the changes. Although we lost a few journalists due to graduation, we are excited to meet new journalists that come our way in the fall. The Mystician strives to bring fresh content for students, faculty and staff. We are the voice of the campus. We tell your stories and share your history. The Mystician is on Volume 87, and with that comes some new features. Starting with a fresh design, new headline fonts and formats will make the newspaper pop. Changes are also occurring with the schedule … BSC students and staff will now have a biweekly newspaper! The Mystician will be able to cover more of campus and have updated campus stories every two weeks. Along with transitions to the newspaper itself we have a few leadership changes. Sophia Fafard will be co-editing this year with the previous Mystician editor-in-chief, Kayden Schmitcke. Mygel Porter will continue to be our Social Media Manager, but now, we will have a Mystic Media YouTube channel! Check out our socials! @ BSCMYSTICMEDIA
